AHOY, MATEYS! Avast! A treasure chest we found! The loot, gold and riches. Shiver me timbers and walk the plank you peg leg !
Pirates and treasures are never boring but always fun and exciting. We love reading stories about the seven seas, singing shanties, dressing up and Ahoying to each other from our pirate ship built from all the cushions and pillows found in our house. We draw maps and roll binoculars, but we realised we do not have a treasure chest. A pirate needs his treasure chest, like the pirate ship needs its flag. So as the true Pirates we are, we went searching the seven rooms, looking for the perfect chest…

DIY Egg Carton Treasure Chest
– Egg Carton
– Paint and brushes
– Scissors
– Most important of all – Treasure
Paint the Egg Carton and let it dry for a few hours to make sure it is dry and won’t make a mess when you play with it. We painted ours brown to make it look like an old wooden chest but there is not stop to your imagination.
When it is dry enough add the details to the chest; key hole, crossbones, gems and jewels, polkadots or anything you wish to make your treasure chest the best one ever.
Now for the fun part – Fill your treasure chest with treasures. Chocolate coins, shells, stones, dried fruit and nuts, little secret notes and drawings.
Why not give the treasure chest as a gift for someone special? Or hid it and make a treasure map and surprise your kids in the morning.
Me hearties, plunder the booty. Aye Aye Scallywag, swab the deck and and count the doubloons. Yo – ho – ho and bottle of milkshake!
